It wouldn't be Riverdale without endless amounts of shirtless Archie Andrews shots, and it looks like season four will be no different.
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared a behind-the-scenes shot from filming season four of all of the boys washing cars shirtless. Now fans are even more impatiently awaiting the upcoming season. KJ Apa is obviously looking cut in the post, and so are his costars Charles Melton and newcomer Eli Goree.
At Comic-Con, the core four and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) gave insider details about the fourth season, and assured fans that even more shirtless Archie scenes are headed to TV screens on October 9.
In multiple interviews at Comic-Con the cast laughed about the ample shirtless scenes to come in the fourth season.
At the 6:32 mark of this video, Apa and his costars share that there will be more shirtless scenes than ever. "The shirtless process is gnarly," Apa said in the interview. His character has multiple scars and tattoos that require hours in the makeup chair every shirtless episode.
Skeet Ulrich, who plays Jughead's dad, FP Jones, applauded the boys on their hard work "washing cars."
"It's important that teenagers develop a good work ethic!" Ulrich joked on Aguirre-Sacasa's post. Other cast members such as Lili Reinhart wrote, "Good god," and Vanessa Morgan commented simply, "Omg." Clearly, the boys of Riverdale have been putting in plenty of hard work at the gym to get these insanely cut figures.
A musical episode is inevitable at this point, so it might as well feature shirtless scenes, too.
Actor Lucy Davis commented, "But they could do Car Wash the musical though?" There are plenty of likely reasons for the boys to be washing cars — perhaps a fundraiser for the football team. But, from Aguirre-Sacasa's caption, I'd say we can expect a shirtless musical number or two.
