But Banks recently revealed her speech almost didn't make the final cut.

She told Entertainment Tonight that she instantly regretted the "vulnerable" moment and begged her producers to delete the segment.

"I ran into that booth with my director, Brian, and I was like, 'I gotta do it over again, I gotta — through tears and a swimsuit — I gotta do it over again, I gotta do it over," Banks confessed.

However, her "Tyra Show" director refused to let her nix the scene.

"He turned off all those monitors and he said, 'Go home,'" Banks continued. "He said, 'That was real, and you will see what this will do."

Banks remembered feeling anxious and regretful for weeks before the segment aired.

"I was freaking out for weeks because it took a couple of weeks for it to air and I just was feeling like it was a mistake," she admitted.

But after viewers saw the episode and heartfelt responses came flooding in, Banks knew she had made the right decision.

"It aired and I just saw it all over the news and everywhere and I was like, 'Wow,'" Banks recalled. "It was a big lesson for me about vulnerability."

Banks said she felt like she had a "responsibility" to her audience.

"I felt like I had a responsibility, you know? I wasn't just thinking ratings." Banks concluded.  I was thinking, like I have a responsibility to be strong, to be noble, and to say, 'Kiss my fat ass" like this."

She added, "I had all these women I felt on my shoulders and I needed to support them."
