The twisted thriller series featuring Penn Badgley that took the internet by storm earlier this year officially has a season two release date.

As soon as Christmas cheer is over, get ready for chills and creepy crawlies thanks to Netflix's You. On December 26, season two will air and fans will be glued to their screens again watching Joe Goldberg torment and stalk his next victim.

At the end of season one, he murdered his girlfriend (whom he had been stalking for months, then kidnapped) and totally got away with it. Now he's moved across the country to Los Angeles where he is back to his disturbing ways, but this time with a woman who's not on social media.

Penn Badgley is back as Joe Goldberg.

Badgley ominously tweeted, "Ready for a fresh start." It seems impossible that the second season could be more horrifying than the creepy stalking and murder scenes we saw in season one, but showrunner Sera Gamble promises scenes even more disturbing. In an interview with LADbible, Gamble recalls one such moment, "At least one scene comes to mind that's gorier and scarier than anything we had in season one."

Joe's ex-girlfriend Candace is back to shake things up, and it seems like things will get messy for Joe.

"Meet your match," the You Netflix Twitter account writes alongside a video with new cast members. Joe's new love interest is an aspiring chef who doesn't have a social media presence like his former love Beck did. Plus, he left a few breadcrumbs from his murders in New York that could follow him across the country.

Gamble teased to LADbible that Doctor Nicky (John Stamos), who Goldberg framed for Beck's murder, could come back to haunt him. "Doctor Nicky is in prison for a murder he committed. When Joe leaves his life in New York behind, he leaves behind a lot of stuff that could come back to haunt him," she said.

Victoria Pedretti from The Haunting of Hill House is playing Love Quinn, the appropriately named new love interest.

Gamble told Entertainment Weekly, "I will say that Love is a person he could only have met after what happened between him and Beck. And by the way, Joe is not out there looking for love. He’s truly heartbroken by what has happened, and so what Love offers is a different kind of friendship and a different kind of relationship."

Joe is now out of New York and has moved to Los Angeles.

The You Netflix Twitter account revealed that the second season will drop on December 26. "Joe’s back, but where? YOU S2 December 26," it tweeted, keeping up with the mysterious elements from the series. Candace (Ambyr Childers) and Love (Pedretti) are featured in the series' poster with Joe (Badgley) front and center.

Fans are ready for the creepy and twisted series' return.

"Please do not bother me December 26th as I will be binging #YouNetflix and thinking about Penn Badgley in an unhealthy way. Thank you," writes one fan jokingly. Of course, all fans of the frightening, thrilling series are excited about its return. People should also keep in mind that the Joe Goldberg character is a serial killer and not someone to lust over.

Season one is still available on Netflix for fans to binge-watch again before the second season premieres next month.
