Ah, Twitter. That magical place where one person's random observation can ignite a firestorm that forever ruins their mentions.

That's pretty much what happened to Kat Hasty, a 21-year-old woman who had the audacity to suggest that guys don't really buy furniture. According to BuzzFeed News, she was over at a friend's place when she noticed his lack of... well, anything.

Hasty took a quick pic and shared it on Twitter, which created quite the controversy. While many people agreed with her, others were feeling very attacked.

Say hello to Kat Hasty.

She is currently one of the most ~controversial~ figures on Twitter.

It all started when Hasty dropped this bombshell of a tweet.

And, honestly, she made a good point. Tons of people — specifically guys — said that Hasty's observation was pretty accurate.

We detect no lies here.

Someone said that keeping things "frugal" is "the best way to live."

And this person doesn't see anything wrong with maintaining a bare bones lifestyle.

Theoretically, no furniture = easier to clean. But it might not be that simple.

Unsurprisingly, guys started offering up glimpses into their home spaces. And things got very interesting.

Now this is some next-level minimalism.

This person is really redefining "sparse living."

Wow, the resemblance is uncanny.

Hasty's tweet really got people talking. She told BuzzFeed News that she "stopped reading the responses an hour after tweeting."

Not all heroes wear capes. Props to Hasty for speaking the truth.
